Lot 333 19JC-9 BRITISH SPORTING RIFLE
Fine quality British Sporting Rifle by “Staudenmayer, London” circa 1850-1860. Measures 46” overall with a 29 ½” barrel in approximately .45 caliber showing odd 2 groove rifling possibly for an off roundbelted ball!! Two barrel keys with finely engraved mounts. Sling swivel removed from butt stock and barrel. Very good plus overall. Studenmayer was a top London maker in the league of Manton, Purdey, and Mortimer Etc. Very interesting.
